Can not burn anything with k3b

I am incapable of writing cd's or dvds. cds fail right away but i have managed to burn a dvd at speed 0.3x way to slow.

after a lot of searching it seems to be a firmware issue, Note to others: Dell XPS 1645 might not burn cd/dvds for you.
