Re: [SOLVED] Arch needs a new cd with updated mirrors

No offense, but I don't believe you. There may be a few mirrors changes since the 2009.08 release, but that's all. For the install to fail, you would need all mirrors to be outdated and/or obsolete, and that is definitely not the case.

If you can provide more details of the actual problem you encountered, someone might be able to help you.

What? There's no [base] repo on the latest CD.

apollokk - base is a package group, not a repo.

I know, but he says:

"[base] was unable to update."

So it looks like some repo with "[]" in front of it. :S

Re: [SOLVED] Arch needs a new cd with updated mirrors

So you reboot, ignore the Gigenet mirror and see if that works?

There have been some problems with that mirror, I used it on my VPS but had to throw it out recently. A malfunctioning mirror is not really the fault of the developers, is it?

Use the mir.archlinux.fr mirror which is always synced properly.

I've noticed the last few days that gigenet has been down.  That was my primary mirror.  Hopefully it'll come back up but there are plenty of others still working.

Afaik they stopped mirroring us due to bandwidth/disk space issues. See bug tracker.
