I'm getting REAL tired of the SysRq key.

Does anyone else have constant frustrations with the intel driver? I used to use the legacy, but that dissappeared. It seems X crashes atleast once a day now.

Personally, I'd rather be back in Hobbiton.

Re: I'm getting REAL tired of the SysRq key.

My situation is worse, everything freezes except the mouse (though sometimes the mouse). I can't get back to a terminal and have to use magic SysRq to reboot.

Re: I'm getting REAL tired of the SysRq key.

i guess youve already tired with i95.powersave=0 as a boot parameter to the kernel?

install openssh, setup a ssh server, and when this happens, try to log into the frozen box. try to get as much logs as possible.

if you can do this, i advice you read this: http://intellinuxgraphics.org/how_to_report_bug.html

Re: I'm getting REAL tired of the SysRq key.

I have best luck with the 2.6.31.x kernel on my laptop which has intel graphics.  I also had no luck with the xf86-video-intel in [testing].  Right now I run 2.6.31.x kernel with xf86-video-intel from [extra] and have good stability.

Suspend does not work however, it requires a hard reboot to recover.
