wifi light flickers
I'm so happy with arch and my new gnome desktop. Two questions though:
1) My wifi light next to my power button flickers quickly between blue and orange, Blue being wifi is on and orange being wifi is off. How can I disable that?
2) I installed both the network manager daemon and applet yet I don't see it when I try to add it to a panel. How can I add it?

NOTE: My wifi still works. It's more of an annoyance that it does the flickering.

Not sure about Gnome, but for KDE the Wifi icon is part of a widget called "System tray". Its bundled together with Volume control and a few other things. Gnome might have something similar hopefully.
