lout + Russian?

Couldn't find an appropriate forum section for that, so let it be here.

Does anybody know, how do I get proper Russian support in lout? The instruction I've read in the official manual just didn't work for me.

Or, perhaps, does anybody know something similar to lout? Written in C, lightweight (~2 megs), yet functional and with PS output?
