Weird echos and stuttering

Weird things are going on with my Audigy 2 sound card: When I get a message with kopete I always hear a DING Ding ding, instead of one ding. When switching Phonon from Xine to Gstreamer backend, this works fine.

But when running speaker test, I only hear "Front Front Front Front ....", it just gets stuck.

aplay does not  work either. Rising the buffer size helps, but even 33736 is not enough, to play the complete K3b success sound, at about 50000 I can hear the complete sound.

Also youtube does not work at all, I either get no sound at all (position bar just does not move), or I get the stuttering. Audacity does not work, but plaympeg works, and tvtime, but there the audio signal is passed into my sound card via Line-In.
Kernel downgrading to 2.6.31 did not help.

Does anyone of you have any ideas how to track down the problem, or, even better, how to solve it? Thanks a lot for reading!
