Weird things are going on with my Audigy 2 sound card: When I get a message with kopete I always hear a DING Ding ding, instead of one ding. When switching Phonon from Xine to Gstreamer backend, this works fine.
But when running speaker test, I only hear "Front Front Front Front ....", it just gets stuck.
#> speaker-test -c 6 -D surround51 -twav
speaker-test 1.0.22
Playback-Device is surround51
Stream-Parameters are 48000 Hz, S16_LE, 6 Chanels
WAV-Datei(en)
Rate is 48000 Hz (requested: 48000 Hz)
Buffer size from 64 to 16384
Period Size from 16 to 16384
Requested Bufferlength: 32000 µs
Periods = 4
set: period_size = 384
set: buffer_size = 1536
0 - Front leftaplay does not work either. Rising the buffer size helps, but even 33736 is not enough, to play the complete K3b success sound, at about 50000 I can hear the complete sound.
#> aplay --buffer-size 33736 -vvvv k3b_success1.wav
Wiedergabe: WAVE 'k3b_success1.wav' : Unsigned 8 bit, Rate: 8000 Hz, mono

Kernel downgrading to 2.6.31 did not help.
Does anyone of you have any ideas how to track down the problem, or, even better, how to solve it? Thanks a lot for reading!
