laptop vga out problem
how do i display using vga port in my laptop? i direct plugin crt monitor didn't function. and i using convertor(vga-to-composite) connect my tv also didn't function.
is that need to settings or install software?

on my laptop it only works when I plug in the vga cable and then reboot.

Depending on what video card your laptop has, it should be a settings thing. My laptop uses a Radeon card, so I was able to do it with just xrandr settings (and then xorg.conf fiddling once I got it worked out.) What sort of graphics card do you have?

i'm using nvidia card. same like lustikus, but when i "startx", it become nothing.
