A pacman -Ss wine or pacman -Ss bin32-wine returns no results. Has wine been removed from the official repo?

bin32-wine is in AUR.

So, Wine is out of the official repos? I thought I had a problem with my mirrorlist.

Official wine is available for i686 edition only. It is in [extra].

bin32-wine was never in the official repos. Maybe you had an extra repo enabled somewhere?

You can find wine in the archlinuxfr repo. It is also in the AUR.

I installed it off AUR. I asked the question because, if I am not wrong, previously it was available from one of the Pacman repos. So, I assumed that something was wrong with the way my Pacman was interacting with the repos.

I think you should activate the archgames repo: maybe you do not care about games, but it contains wine and many of that annoying lib32 file that can be useful.

wine is in the official repo but only for i686. Always has been like this. There has never been an official package for x86_64.
