Full swap after resuming from suspend

Hi everybody, I am new in this forum. I am having troubles with suspension to disk. I have a dell laptop with intel driver installed, the resume works quite fine except that the system is slower. Using system-monitor in gnome I noticed that the used ram is about 800M and oddly the used swap is 1.3G. I am sure that the swap was empty before the suspension, so does anyone know the reason for this behaviour? Do I have to set something to avoid this?
I also found a similar behaviour for a ubuntu user, who posted it as a bug in lauchpad, but it seems that his problem was related to closed ati drivers and this is not my case.
Thank you for your help.

Re: Full swap after resuming from suspend

If you suspend to disk, the swap partition will be used to store the current system state (see this note in the Beginners' Guide).

To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

Yes I know that (even if I am new here I started using linux 5 years ago), but I think the whole content of the swap partition should be moved to the ram again and remain empty. Am I wrong?

Re: Full swap after resuming from suspend

It might've started with newer kernels. On my desktop I've been mostly using tuxonice for years, but it's been failing for me on the newer kernels, uswsusp works for me on .33, but indeed, for whatever reason, it likes to force stuff out to swap. When I was using it in the olden days, it didn't do that.

You could try with kernel .31 or .30. Or try tuxonice (kernel26-ice in AUR).
