Hi all!
I wanted to report this, maybe it's useful...
After the last update of rp-pppoe package there is a strange behaviour on my computer. As far as I know, there were no kernel or corresponding update when this problem appeared.
So, the symptom is, it is not connecting. The reason is: eth0 is not showing up. (ifconfig shows it not.) The root of the problem is that I've disabled DHCP a few months ago, though it was working fine until now.
In /etc/rc.conf if I disable the line eth0="dhcp" it works not, if I enable it, it works fine. I can live with that, but I must point, that I don't get any IP via DHCP from my ISP, so it just waste around 30 seconds during startup. That's why I've disabled it in the past, and it was a fine solution.
Maybe there was a change in the network interface startup process, but as I remember, only two package came when I did the update of rp-pppoe.
Any guess?
