kde, qt, photon // apps using kde now fail.

This question perhaps is related to kde, qt, and photon. After the recent update, apps using kde don't work anymore.

crom ([url wrote:

I  also installed phonon-gstreamer, because is just use some KDE-progs on Gnome. But I do not know if its necessary.

As for http://www.archlinux.org/news/483/ :

Unfortunately I upgraded using:

% pacman -Syu --ignore qt

Now applications which need kde (like k3b) generate this message after start:
$ k3b
k3b: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkdeui.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZNK16QAbstractSpinBox16inputMethodQueryEN2Qt16InputMethodQueryE
$ krusader
krusader: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libkdeui.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZNK16QAbstractSpinBox16inputMethodQueryEN2Qt16InputMethodQueryE

This...
% pacman -Sy --asdeps qt
% pacman -Su
... unfortunetely doesn't help

Any hint how to fix this?

Goetz

A full system update should fix the issue.

Re: kde, qt, photon // apps using kde now fail.

Thank you. Full update didn't help.

"Pierre" in Germany helped me to solve the problem: https://forum.archlinux.de/?id=20;page= … 43;post=-1

I successfully tried pacman -Syd --asdeps qt phonon
Then I checked with testdb, because "-d" can be a risk.

Best regards from Munich
