openoffice - broken export to .doc

after opening Word document with tables etiting and saving again as doc, openoffice loses all tables.
This makes openoffice quite unusable.

tested in
openoffice-base-3.2.0-1
openoffice-base-devel-3.3_dev300_m70-1

Arch linux i686 up to date (last update 02-17-10)

Re: openoffice - broken export to .doc

You could try changing /etc/profile.d/openoffice.sh.

I am using KDE, so I set that conf to force KDE, which resulted in a prettier interface (if you like confusing colours), but the file menu did not work right and after a while it also became dead slow.

Commenting out both Gnome and KDE gave me KDE again, so on my KDE system I need to set 'force Gnome' to have OOo Calc working. Sad, but true.
