[SOLVED] kmail hangs when sending mail and configuring filters
Since the upgrade kmail has been very slow in sending mail and configuring filters. It takes about a minute to send a message or open the filters dialog.

Are there any error messages about akonadi not being able to start? Check the akonadi configuration tool for that.
Good ideas do not need lots of lies told about them in order to gain public acceptance.

Akonadi seems to be running OK:
$ akonadictl status
Akonadi Control: running
Akonadi Server: running

I discarded my old KDE configuration, set up KDE 4.4 from scratch, imported my old mail folders, etc. and now KMail works much, much better. However, it's still lazier than the previos KDE 4.3 version.
