So my system was up to date until today (checking everyday)
To my surprise 121 packages showed up..
After updating X won't start anymore.
I had this problem before, but it would only happen after I update zlib.
The error message on X.org.log is:
Fatal server error:
Failed to activate core devices.
After a small delay, this appears:
giving up.
xinit: No such file or directory (errno 2): Unable to connect to X server
xinit: No such process (errno 3): Server error.
Among the updates was xorg-server, libxml2 and more
Generating a new xorg.conf or starting with none didn't help.
What can I do ?
OFF: Is it common to have mirror issues with Arch?
Do I have to keep running reflector to generate a new mirrorlist periodically ?

OFF: Use mir.archlinux.fr which is reliable.

After trying again there's a message on the top of this error that says:
(EE) Error compiling keymap (Server-0)
(EE) failed to compile keymap
Keyboard initialization failed. This could be a missing or incorrect setup of xkeyboard-config
How can I re-configure my keyboard ?
And why did this happen after the update? hope it won't be often..
flamelab, so I just add mir.archlinux.fr to my mirrorlist or to pacman.conf ? and does it provide x86_64 packages?

First in the mirrorlist and .... why do you ask about x86_64 packages? ALL mirrors have the x86_64 packages :what: ?

ALL mirrors have the x86_64 packages :what: ?
Didn't know that, thanks.
I just installed xf86-input-keyboard, that wasn't installed. But it didn't solve this.
If anybody got any ideas, please just post it.
You know how it feels to be without comp.

Try reinstalling the xorg group.
Then install xorg-input-drivers
then make your xorg.conf minimal. What gpu and driver you have installed ?
Offline
No luck. Tried reinstalling both xorg and xorg-input-drivers groups
I'm using nvidia 190.53
videocard: nvidia gforce 8600 GT

Have you tried logging in with a DM ? KDM/GDM etc ?

Nope, I use openbox.
Don't have any DM installed and I think it's unlike to be a openbox problem.

Guys..embarrassing...
The error was that my disk was full !
the root logical volume that is...
D:
Too bad it didn't say in the '/var/log/X.org.log' or it would save me some time
I got it by glance when I tried again (the error goes really fast, I wish the "break" on the keyboard would work there )
