After following the steps on the uvesafb wiki page, (minus 915resolution, as I have an AMD chipset) I have been unable to get a resolution that accurately fits the widescreen monitor on my laptop. The native resolution on my moniter is 16:9, 1366x768. The output of

radeonfb works perfectly with my ATI (aka AMD) card. That's 1280x800, and it's completely auto detected - no kernel or driver parameters required.
