How to un-require passwords for users in GDM login (Gnome) ?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to set up GDM so that all a user has to do is click on their name and it will log in without having to type a password!

This is my personal computer, so I'd like to log into my standard user easily, and use only a password when logging in as root.

Anyone know how?

and look at the Security tab

I think that gdmsetup doesn't exist anymore ...

you can autologin by adding :

[daemon]
AutomaticLoginEnable=true
AutomaticLogin=your_user

in /etc/gdm/custom.conf

hmmm, you could be quite right...i forgot that i downgraded gdm because i didn't like the new one.

I'm aware of autologin, but that's not quite what i'm trying to accomplish.

Let's say I have 10 users on my system. When you reach the GDM login screen after boot, you'd see these 10 users, then you can click on one of them and you have to enter their password to log in.

How can I have it so that when I click on one of the 10 users (any one) it will just log in with no password?

Hey loafer, I followed those instructions regarding PAM, but it's not working!

I installed "gnome-system-tools" via pacman so I could access "users-admin" (AKA Users and Groups) as per the instruction on that page to enable no-password check on a per-user basis.

I also added the correct line "auth sufficient pam_succeed...." to the gdm properties in etc/pam.d/gdm

But after reboot, still no luck!

Am i missing something? I did exactly what it said!
