After the last system update (that just pulled smplayer, filezilla and libdvdnav) smplayer started to have problems opening files that have characters that need to be escaped in the name, this only when opening with a double click or xdg-open filename (or exo-open filename as I'm using xfce).
Characters that need to be escaped in the filename get converted to their code, as in a space gets converted to %20.
Opening the file directly from the cli with 'smplayer filename' works fine. Downgrading also makes it work properly again. Deleting/renaming ~/.config/smplayer doesn't change anything.
Any ideas?
Edit:
Marking as solved.

Great, thank you.
I would not remember to check that but makes perfect sense, one more thing I'll try to remember ![]()
