Flash Alternatives

So..what alternatives do I have to flash to do some simple animation for the web. [something like this]

I have no flash so can't see your sample. Anyhow, animation tech on the web is diverse but not always ubiquitous. Some: GIF, Moonlight, SVG, HTML5, videos.
