EeePC with Xorg/KDE, screen randomly goes blank

I have a problem with Eee PC 1001HA. I installed Arch Linux and Xorg / KDE 4.4 without problems. But now screen goes blank randomly (about 3-5 times per hour) and I can only reboot the computer. What could cause this? I also installed Ubuntu Netbook Remix and with that screen does not go blank randomly.

Re: EeePC with Xorg/KDE, screen randomly goes blank

It might be related to the intel graphic drivers and KMS, as described in this thread. Try putting i915.powersave=0 in your kernel boot line in /boot/grub/menu.lst -- something like this:

# (0) Arch Linux
title Arch Linux
root (hd0,0)
kernel /vmlinuz26 root=/dev/disk/by-uuid/036f6188-51e8-48c1-b58b-4884a97f21d8 ro i915.powersave=0
initrd /kernel26.img

I have the same problem.
However, it is not necessary to reboot. You can use the Sleep function (Fn+F1 on my eeePC). Upon resuming from sleep, the screen reverts back to its normal state.
