[WINDOWS] Virtual Box installation, using i686 iso file, fails on boot

I wish to solve a post-installation issue using vbox on windows 7:

After trying to boot on virtual box using the default installation of a i686 iso, i got this error, how do i solve it???

Try deleting the .vdi  file that you are using for the virtual hard drive and make a new one in a different location on your systems. It could be the virtual HD is damage or your actually system HD is damage or has bad cluster and your bad luck your Virtual hard drive file(.vdi) fell on the bad clusters of your main drive.

This must be installed from a rather old installation ISO. What version are you using? Did you install using legacy? I'm asking because of the use of /dev/hda3.

This must be installed from a rather old installation ISO. What version are you using? Did you install using legacy? I'm asking because of the use of /dev/hda3.

I'm using archlinux-2009.08-core-i686.iso. What should I do to fix it???

Have deleted,  have defragmented, have done it again... same problem... any solution???

I've seen this before.  The problem resulted from doing a "Legacy IDE" install instead of just a standard installation.  Even if you don't have SATA, just do a standard install.  see http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=85934

Thank you... i'll try it... i was installing as legacy IDE cause of the VBOX wiki was saying to do so... =x

You should report them to properly fix it.

If I continue to have any problems i'll return to it.
