No wifi connection on white Macbook

I installed Arch Linux and made it to console. Before I hooked up my wireless router to the laptop. Now I am downstairs and I tried to use the Ping command as was described in the wiki but it said "command not found". I added the entry "wlan0" to the interface section in the rc.conf file. When installing it I know it recognizes it but somehow won't connect to my wireless router which by the way is a 802.11n only connection. I have a Atheros 5008 chipset.

I am not sure what else to do. I hope I can enable it somehow and Arch Linux will connect to it.

Please post the hardware revision. This will allow us to troubleshoot your issue in greater detail. (You need dmidecode.)

# dmidecode -s system-product-name

Also, are you sure you installed the entire 'base' group? ping is in iputils, which is a part of base.
