my xine seems to have suddenly gone tits up. as both root and user its starts and then quits out again with no error messages - mplayer works fine so it can't be a permissions prob can it?
i reinstalled both xine packages and removed my ~/.xine dir
no joy - ideas please!

What's the output if you run xine from an Xterm?
A bus station is where a bus stops.
A train station is where a train stops.
On my desk I have a workstation.

Xine works fine here. A wild guess: Xine-lib depends on libtheora which was updated today. Maybe there is a problem with the newest libtheora? Also, I am still using freetype2 2.1.7-2 since the newest version was creating errors with several programs.
