Low performance with SCSI disk

Hi

I'm actually not sure if this is a linux issue but my SCSI disk is running with very low performance, hdparm -Tt /dev/sdc outputs read speeds of about 35mB/s.
My SCSI card is Adaptec 29320LPE and my disk i a Seagate Cheetah 15krpm.

I'm currently running the harddrive in forced single ended mode since. But if I remove the jumper which forces the single ended mode I get much better speeds with hdparm, about 130mB/s, but the drive becomes very unstable, my arch system looses the connection to the disk within a minute or so.

Anyone having any expertice with SCSI? I would really like to get it up and running in full speeds. I've recently got the harddrive and the SCSI card from another workstation so I don't how it was set up earlier.

Thanks!
