Thunar/PCmanFM doesn't see optical disks

Hi all, I have that problem:
When I insert CD/DVD,  drive start to spinning disc, but after 5 seconds stops it. In Thunar settings automount is off, I mount discs with xfce4-panel folders applet and with shortcut in Thunar's sidebar. Now I don't see that shortcuts in applications, but in opendialogs of other applications (google-chrome, transmission, etc) I see that shortcuts and from dialogs I can explore CDs/DVDs! Sure, this is not usable, how to fix Thunar??
Please help me!!( WM: Openbox
P.S. sorry for my bad english((

Just to clarify, you can actually access the discs through other means, right? What happens if you set Thunar to automatically mount devices and discs?

I solved it with adding ti /etc/sudoers %users  ALL=/sbin/mount /cdrom,/sbin/umount /cdrom /sr0 /sr1, but some disks (2/3) doesn't mounting as same at the beginning mad

Could it be that you need to downgrade util-linux-ng? There is a bug in version 2.17-1. Downgrading to 2.16-1 sorts it smile

Re: Thunar/PCmanFM doesn't see optical disks

What about adding "ck-launch session startxfce4" instead of "startxfce4" to your ,xinitrc file....

Re: Thunar/PCmanFM doesn't see optical disks

I added it before, but maybe not correctly:

numlockx &
Thunar --daemon &
exec ck-launch-session openbox-session

Heck, I don't know, I don't use thunar, but isn't there a package called something "volume-management"?

Re: Thunar/PCmanFM doesn't see optical disks

It looks like a limitation of PCmanFM.

Why not just use a player like smplayer or dragonplayer?

Re: Thunar/PCmanFM doesn't see optical disks

have you looked at the HAL wiki?

http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/HAL … _Configure

In short, users are by default denied access to interfaces like Volume which has methods such as mount and unmount. This is overruled by policies allowing users of the groups 'power' and 'storage' to access their respective devices:
File: /etc/dbus-1/system.d/hal.conf

<policy group="power">
   <allow send_interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.SystemPowerManagement"/>
   <allow send_interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.LaptopPanel"/>
</policy>

<policy group="storage">
   <allow send_interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume"/>
   <allow send_interface="org.freedesktop.Hal.Device.Volume.Crypto"/>
</policy>

I added a storage group with the above and other storage related stuff I copied and pasted from the user="root" section, and now I can mount usb or windows or linux cd's

Music cd's do not mount, but can be played via the players.

Sorry if that didn't help.  LOL, I'm here LOOKING for help, not trying to GIVE it.
