@pnevma: hmm, that's weird. I have the same Xft settings in .Xdefaults, but I use hintslight. If I enter hintfull, I get awful rendering. I'll try a few more combinations. Could you post output of ls -l on your /etc/fonts/conf.d directory please?

This is Arch Linux running on my desktop computer with Ratpoison as a window manager and Rxvt-Unicode as my terminal emulator. I am currently trying to learn how to manage MPD using nothing but the mpc client.
I started out with letting Ratpoison control the whole screen, like I do on my netbook, but that was a bit too much for me so I changed the padding and centering to get what you see here. I might eventually add Conky to the bottom for MPD monitoring.

FM should be thunar. I don't think it's a box environment. Should be xfce.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

You're right, it is thunar. I didn't know that view was possible! It's pretty nice looking.. And xfce sure can look a lot like openbox!
Clever Linux quote.

Openbox has no 'look'... It's just a WM, and if you run it without any task bars or tray applications, then you don't see anything but the background. Véry hard to tell it's Openbox then .

It's Xfce 4.6, the file manager is Thunar, gtk theme is a recolored version of "Pixel old School" and the win deco is Xfwm

First post, btw!
May I ask what this dock on the bottom is? It is a dock, indeed? Or does it belong to the wallpaper?
