Re: March 2010 Screenshots

@pnevma: hmm, that's weird. I have the same Xft settings in .Xdefaults, but I use hintslight. If I enter hintfull, I get awful rendering. I'll try a few more combinations. Could you post output of ls -l on your /etc/fonts/conf.d directory please?

Re: March 2010 Screenshots

Hrm...I cant find it now.  I got this wallpaper a long time ago, it has sat on my system virtually un-used, and googling for it produces nothing. I have a feeling I found it on a screenshots thread either here or on the ubuntu forums.

I posted it anyway to my images account:

This is Arch Linux running on my desktop computer with Ratpoison as a window manager and Rxvt-Unicode as my terminal emulator. I am currently trying to learn how to manage MPD using nothing but the mpc client.

I started out with letting Ratpoison control the whole screen, like I do on my netbook, but that was a bit too much for me so I changed the padding and centering to get what you see here. I might eventually add Conky to the bottom for MPD monitoring.

Openbox, Conky, urxvt, screen. Wallpaper (not by me; don't know where to find it) is here.

Experimenting with translucency and heightened simplicity.

FM should be thunar. I don't think it's a box environment. Should be xfce.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard-coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

You're right, it is thunar. I didn't know that view was possible! It's pretty nice looking.. cool And xfce sure can look a lot like openbox!

Re: March 2010 Screenshots

Openbox has no 'look'... It's just a WM, and if you run it without any task bars or tray applications, then you don't see anything but the background. Véry hard to tell it's Openbox then wink.

I posted it earlier, but I'm actually done with the theme now:

dwm, rxvt-unicode-256color-layoutgaps, conky.  Usually running chromium and irssi as well.  And now I'm done fiddling with the theme for at least a month.

It's Xfce 4.6, the file manager is Thunar, gtk theme is a recolored version of "Pixel old School" and the win deco is Xfwm
