A lonnnnnng time ago I wiped a disk with fdisk and formatted it with mkfs.ext3, but forgot to create a partition when using fdisk.
The drive mount's fine, but I mount it like this: mount /dev/sdc /mnt/drive
There is no sdc1,sdc2.....
Anyone know how I can somehow move this to be sdc1 without losing data???

*lol* There is no way you can 'rename' the drive - when you made the filesystem you hosed the partition table.
If you run fdisk now, you'll hose your filesystem!
So - back up all files, use 'fdisk' to set up partition(s), make filesystem(s) on partition(s) and then restore your files
A 1TB usb-disk can be had for 100 bucks these days - it's a no-brainer!!
