xcompmagr leaves trails on terminal (Openbox) [solved]

I'm wondering if anyone has an up-to-date and working solution to the shadow trails left behind by terminator?

I searched and this old thread has a fix that doe not work for me.

I tried various settings such as the promising -cC (no shadows on panels) but it only seemed to work then went back to broken.

This is what happens when I move my terminal (terminator) ...

xcompmgr-dana from aur usually fixes this.

Ok I learned something from this

I had tried dana but tried again and this time learned the --nosave part of pacman when I removed the old xcompmgr

pacman -R --nosave xcompmgr
