Nvidia

What's going on? Why is it downgrading the package? Did I miss something?

From 195.x.x.x -> 190.x.x.x yikes

Re: Nvidia

I just did a

sudo abs

and looks like the PKGBUILD is still saying 195.x

▶ grep pkgver /var/abs/extra/nvidia/PKGBUILD | head -1
pkgver=195.36.08

So changed it manually to 190.53 ,in-case anyone runs into the same problem. the PKGBUILD is not downgraded!

abs always lags quite a bit...

Re: Nvidia

I'll just use this thread to post my problems and how I solved them...
I have kernel26-ck and I had nvidia-ck installed. But with last update I got in a dependency hell-ish cycle. nvidia-ck demanded new nvidia-utils, new nvidia-utils demanded kernel26-ck and it demanded nvidia-ck to be updated, and so on.... (it might not be completely like this, something similar, I forgot what depended on what, but it was a cycle)
Anyway I removed both nvidia-ck and nvidia-utils, installed kernel26-ck then try to install nvidia-ck, but couldn't connect to nvidia server, tried everyrthing else, got the same problem, installed krenel26 and nvidia from repo, then tried it today, still got the dependency cycle with nvidia-ck so used abs to change normal nvidia to nvidia-ck...
So far so good.

As an interesting thing which might not be connected to the whole ordeal, but I hope it is; my vlc loosed sound on ARCH kernel when playing HD movies. I hope it works now...

Re: Nvidia

I'm updating kernel26-ice to 2.6.33. Those with nvidia,are you using nvidia-ice? [I guess you can't anymore as the package says 195.36.08-1 but that was pulled out.]
I think I'll just use 190.53 and change the depends to 'kernel26=2.6.33' from 'kernel26<2.6.33'

That should work, right? Or how did you solve this?

I use kernel26-ck. And I changed:

_kernver: from ARCH tock, in your case ice
and in depends I changed krenel26 to kernel26-ck in your case -ice

That should do it.

That's why I never used it, and pull from svn/websvn if needed.
