vlc dependency problem

hey there,
installing vlc from extra failing to retrieve fluidsynth-1.1.1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz. i checked some mirrors and the package is tar'd as xz, not gz. i did some forum searching and found discussions about moving to this compression, but suspect that there may be something overlooked when changing and dependencies are involved. so i think i can get around this by manually installing fluidsynth first, but is this something warranting a bug report?
thanks,
k

Re: vlc dependency problem

"pacman -Sp fluidsynth" shows me that it will look for a .xz file.   Make sure your system is fully up to date and if that does not work, post your pacman output.
