Amarok 2.3 crashes at start

Hi Folks,

If you have the same problem like me, simply delete the file ~/.kde4/share/config/amarok_homerc  and it will start again.

Re: Amarok 2.3 crashes at start

That file doesn't exist for me, and it still crashes with:

Error mesage was: "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" : " "The name org.kde.amarok was not provided by any .service files." "

Using openbox as wm.

Re: Amarok 2.3 crashes at start

Works for me.
Did you clear out all amarok-related files from $HOME?
Run from the command line and post the error message.

Good ideas do not need lots of lies told about them in order to gain public acceptance.

Re: Amarok 2.3 crashes at start

Deleting the config file didn't work for me. I had to install phonon-xine (which amarok will start using right away) and it worked. You may have to logout-login or wait for a while, and then amarok 2.3 will run without a problem.

BTW, you also need to remove the config file (or disable the "systray" icon, which is what causes one crash, using phonon-gstreamer causes the other crash).

Re: Amarok 2.3 crashes at start

I even installed amarok-git. Same shit

<unknown program name>(2405)/: Communication problem with  "amarok" , it probably crashed.
Error message was:  "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply" : " "Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)" "

I'm dying....
