USB mouse not detected

Hi

It works on my arch server but not on the laptop (Thinkpad x40)

server dmesg:

usb 4-2: new low speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2
usb 4-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usbcore: registered new interface driver hiddev
input: Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:03.2/usb4/4-2/4-2:1.0/input/input4
generic-usb 0003:046D:C03D.0001: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.10 Mouse [Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse] on usb-0000:00:03.2-2/input0
usbcore: registered new interface driver usbhid
usbhid: v2.6:USB HID core driver
usb 4-2: USB disconnect, address 2

server lsusb:

root@servu ~ # lsusb
Bus 004 Device 003: ID 046d:c03d Logitech, Inc. M-BT96a Pilot Optical Mouse

The infrared light comes up on loading udev but shuts down after a few secs and there's nothing on dmesg or lsusb. I had some problems with an usb hd as well... Any ideas?

Re: USB mouse not detected

Did that ever work? It seems as if there are problems with USB on certain X40's (but also other ThinkPads), see here
