WINS crashes browsers

I started having Firefox randomly crashing so I tried to educate myself as to how to troubleshoot these things.

I tried:
1. Clean install of Firefox (I deleted the profile directory).
2. Another browser, midori.
3. gdb firefox

When I did gdb I got some host lookup error in nss_wins.so. I had no idea what to do with this, so I kept google-ing for about two weeks before I found this: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=724132.

So I did what TheFlyingPengwyn said and removed wins from my nsswitch.conf, and I haven't had a crash since.
