CUPS can't see my printer any more

I had my Samsung ML-2010 set up in CUPS and it worked great, easy to install. Now for some reason CUPS can't detect the printer at all. In the admin page I removed the printer and I can't re-add because it doesn't detect any printers. The kernel still sees it:

usb 8-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5
usb 8-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usblp0: USB Bidirectional printer dev 5 if 0 alt 0 proto 2 vid 0x04E8 pid 0x326C

I have no idea where to start because it "just worked" before and now it "just doesn't work".

Here is my printers.conf (restored from printers.conf.0):

<Printer Samsung_ML-2010_USB_1>
Info Samsung ML-2010
Location Local Printer
MakeModel Samsung ML-2010 Foomatic/gdi
DeviceURI usb://Samsung/ML-2010
State Idle
StateTime 1268728294
Type 8388612
Accepting Yes
Shared Yes
JobSheets none none
QuotaPeriod 0
PageLimit 0
KLimit 0
OpPolicy default
ErrorPolicy stop-printer
</Printer>

Edit: I just noticed this in /var/log/cups/error_log

E [16/Mar/2010:08:43:55 +0000] Unable to fork /usr/lib/cups/backend/usb - Cannot allocate memory.
E [16/Mar/2010:08:43:55 +0000] [Job 70] Stopping job because the sheduler could not execute the backend.

Re: CUPS can't see my printer any more

I am having  a problem with my printer not being detected as well. But I have a canon mp 220, did you try locking usblp?

I've disabled usblp but that didn't help.

Try to delelte all printers from cups at
http://localhost:631//
restart cups
sometimes it works for me. I also have Samsung printer and some problems appeared about three month ago with CUPS upgrade.
