Is there a way to get shockwave flash-player not to crash?
If I have my browser (firefox) open for a while, say an hour, my flashplayer starts behaving weird on sites like youtube. First the sound is clipping and gets stuck in a loop. Then after a longer period of time the video stops playing after ~3s and then fast forward to the end.
To "fix" this I have to restart my browser or restart the flash-plugin in firefox.
Is there a way to fix this permanently?
I have had this problem in Arch, Kubuntu, Sabayon and Gentoo.

I don't know if there is any reason besides "Flash is buggy". ![]()
If you only use Flash to view YouTube videos, you can try the package "swfdec-mozilla". I was surprised that it works pretty well.
I personally don't use any Flash player software. For YouTube videos I use the program "clive". ![]()

What browser, and what architecture? I seldom get Flash crashes...except for when using Opera alpha-quality snapshot builds

The only Flash crashes I've seen are 100% reproducible, I've not seen it have a problem over time with sites it works fine with. I don't use Firefox though, I use a mixture of Chromium and Opera.

I use firefox (Namoroka) 3.6 with shockwave flash 10.0 r45 and Arch 32-bit.
