Grub Error 17

Hi there, I know that this is a typical problem but I followed this instructions (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GRUB#GRUB_Error_17) and I still can't solve it.

I have two hard drives: hda where is windows and hdc where I installed Arch.
Hdc has three partitions:
hdc1 -> /boot
hdc2 -> /
hdc3 -> swap

When I did fdisk X - F - W it said that the partition table was OK. However, i installed grub again as it says:

grub> root (hd1,0)
grub> setup (hd1)
grub> quit

Now, when I boot appears the grub command line and there I can't boot, again error 17.

I hope you can help me.

Thanks!

Re: Grub Error 17

It look like grub can't find what he want on the hard drive you indicate to him.

Also it's weird that your drive is designated as "hdc" and grub use hd1. Could you try (hd2,0) and (hd2) ?

GRUB recognizes hdc as hd1 because hdb is the dvd. I tried changing to hd2 but it doesn't work.
