hello
you could try adding "options snd-hda-intel model=acer" to your /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf
that fixed the bass issue for me

Hi d3nver,
Did you try using 'alsamixer' (as root) to set the volume?
I have an Acer as well so I had to turn up the volume quite a bit in alsamixer.
If you add 'alsa' to the daemons array (in rc.conf) the settings are remembered (although the first time you need to use 'alsactl store' to save the levels.
Hope this helps

In alsamixer you'll need to make sure the front is turned up, and also make sure that the LFE channel is up and unmuted (press M while that channel is selected to mute/unmute) on the Acers. You'll probably also have it set to 2CH (not sure if that model has the 5.1 like the 8920 I have) if it does have 5.1 turn up/unmute the side and rear channels, and set it to multichannel.
