I just installed my new system (Arch 64bit, xfce, nvidia geforce gt 220 [using nvidia driver]).
When I start vlc (or qtconfig) the background of the windows are black (affects all qt apps).
I think it has to do with the nvidia driver (used opensource-ati driver before on the old pc).
Any advice?

It all appears to be working as it should in your screenshots. The QT config is using the GTK style as it's QT style. Thus Im guessing the GTK style selected is that particular style, If you're not happy you can always choose another GTK style or XFCE style, as it will try and match it. Or you can choose another GUI style other than GTK+ in QTConfig

Ahh, see that was really apparent in your initial post, maybe if you nuke the
~/.config/Trolltech.conf file as http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=56296 suggests and try to use qtconfig again that might allow for the config to be redone

mh, i should have mentioned that i already tried it. deleted Trolltech.conf, but qtconfig still is black. maybe you could provide me your Trolltech.conf?

Well, i "solved" my problem by editing the colors in qtconfig by hand.

Could use some help on this.
Have successfully changed everything using qtconfig and Tune Palatte etc.
I STILL have a black background in one area that doesn't seem to be 'settable'
with qtconfig.
Anyone know what causes every 2nd history/contact entry in latest skype to be blacked
out untill selected/highlighted?
thanks!

I had the same problem due to wildcard terminal colors in my .Xresources
Before:
*background: #111111
*foreground: #babdb6
...
After:
xterm*background: #111111
xterm*foreground: #babdb6
This fixed the qt colors. Hope helps.

it sure does help. I was frantically searching for a solution, and thankfully found yours. Thanks a lot for the help.
