Grub2 and GPT

Hi guys,
first off thanks for the patience! smile
I got some doubts I can't clear up by googling!

1) Can I place my arch's root and home on 2 primary partitions? Can I place all the operating systems I wanna install on primary partitions? (without having to deal with extended and logical ones)

2) To cross over the "4 primary partions" limit imposed by the MBR, I'm planning to move to GPT.
How should I move in orderd to achieve a GPT disk?
I was thinking:
- Gparted --> create partition table (adios to all the data on the drive) --> GPT
- partition the disk as I wish
- then boot the arch live
- install arch on the partition I made
- install grub2 a usb pendrive
- go on installing all the other OS
Is this the right way?

3) I know Grub do not support Guid partition tables (GPT, natively), if not using the extra partition trick. How do I install grub2 from the live cd? I do need to install it manually, right (usb pen)?

4) I found some guys on ubuntu's forum saying that "cfdisk, fdisk and other stuff do not support GPT"!!! Anybody know anythin more about this? How am I supposed to partition the disk from the live Cd if I can't use cfdisk? Do I have to write everything with GParted?

Please guys, help this newbie(me)!  Every advise/warning/diss will be appreciated  smile

Re: Grub2 and GPT

All your questions have been answered at http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/User:Skodabenz/GPT , except for the fact that the official Archlinux iso does not support GPT. You will be better off with archboot iso ftp://ftp.archlinux.org/iso/archboot/ . Read http://rodsbooks.com/gdisk/ also to clear all your doubts about GPT. Good luck.
