Catalyst now has X.org 1.7 support!

An unreleased, unannounced version of catalyst just hit the Ubuntu repos!

Read more about it here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … bug/494699

Download it here: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/lucid/+sou … 1-0ubuntu1

Timing sucks, since we are already waiting for X.Org 1.8 release sad

Changelog on Launchpad:

  * New upstream release:
    - Restore compatibility with kernel 2.6.32 and xserver 1.7.
    - Add Passive Stereo support on workstation (FireGL/FirePro) hardware.
    - Add Eyefinity support (more than 2 monitors on Radeon HD 5xxx hardware).
      Officially WS-only but should work on consumer boards as well.

Re: Catalyst now has X.org 1.7 support!

haha, ever since I set up my new (older) laptop I've been wondering if I could play a few games with it.  Be nice if I got the chance soon.

I was about to create a PKGBUILD for this before I realized how much I don't game or need any 3D beyond what radeon offers.
