[solved] download of packages stops

Hi,

I've been trying to install archlinux using the x64 ftp usb image. But i always get stuck at the stage where the packages get downloaded. Right now I'm stuck at the ~10th package but usually i don't get as far as the 4th package. Sometimes I get an retrieving error at the first package but when i get stuck there is no error message.
I've tried two or three different mirrors, one of them the official mirror, which work fine when i connect to them from another system.
Pinging the mirrors or other sites also gives no errors or packet loss.
I've installed X86 arch many times on that particular machine and i know the usb drive works because just the day before yesterday i set up another system with the drive.

Any suggestions?
