Cannot boot after kernel upgrade

Hi!

I did a full system upgrade yesterday. Today I cannot successfully boot the system. It freezes with these lines

BUG:Soft locup - CPU#0 SUTCK FOR 61s [modprobe:191]
Modules linked in: ata_piix(+) libata floppy scsi_mod i810(+) drm_kms_helper drm i2c_algo_bit_button i2c_core vodeo output intel_agp agpgart

Keyboard has not been loaded by the time of this happening, so I can't do anything else. I have PATA disk for my sistem. Is this happening because the new kernel doesn't work well with the PATA driver? I booted in with the arch CD and checked pacman.log all kernel imgaes were generated successfully (kernel26 and kernel26-firmware were upgraded from version 2.6.32.9-1 to 2.6.32.10-1.

How can this be fixed? Just by rolling back changes in pacman? If so, how can I do it with my livecd?

Thanks in advance!
