When I wanted to start gdm from the console, I got the following warning:
(gdm-binary:905): WARNING **: Couldn't connect to system bus: Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory
Yesterday there was no problem. Last update was 5 days ago.

update to dbus 1.2.24
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Apparently it was updated to dbu-1.2.20.-1 in the last update.

Problem solved. I made a change to my rc.conf file. I changed the locale, but didn't notice I removed one of the quotation marks.

Thank you for this! My rc.conf had locale= and I changed it to locale="en" and it works. Now I can use my Arch again. Regards.
Edit: I had the problem again but this time I put a space between DAEMON and the = sign so it read DAEMON ... preload ...) instead of DAEMON=(... preload ...).
