Hi everyone,
I'm new to Arch (after Ubuntu for about a year) and have been having with the speed of my computer, which I think is related to my video card.
I have tried configuring the card using both the nvidia + nvidia-utils and nvidia-173xx + nvidia-173xx-utils, but the redraw on my screen is a bit slow. I sometimes see a trail of windows when I move them, certain windows take long to resize, high-resolution videos are choppy, and scrolling on websites is not always smooth. Gnome also crashes with compiz while doing things like changing workspace (using desktop-wall).
The options mentioned in the [wiki]NVIDIA[/wiki] wiki, like renderaccel, don't seem to help. I generally use Gnome with either compiz or metacity, and the same problem exists in LXDE.
Thanks

Have you followed all the steps for installation here: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Nvidia

Yes, I followed those steps, though I had to make a guess as to which driver to use because the NVIDIA page says my card is not yet supported. I tried both of the more recent ones. However, I had better video performance on Ubuntu so I know I'm doing something wrong.
