Smooth OpenOffice Writer fonts

Hi,

I installed the Ubuntu patched LCD packages (http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … d_packages) and everything look great on the desktop, but I am not 100% sure about OpenOffice.

I installed the Gentium font in OpenOffice and it looks as follows:

Does this look OK to all or am I missing something that could make this even more readable?

Thanks!

Re: Smooth OpenOffice Writer fonts

AFAIK, Openoffice.org does its own font rendering and it never has done it particularly nicely - just Google for "Openoffice.org font help" or "Openoffice.org ugly fonts".  In the meantime, here's what that text looks like here without any LCD patched packages installed:

Re: Smooth OpenOffice Writer fonts

Thank you for your info.

Not sure how to fix this so I installed AbiWord to edit this document, it seems to render the fonts much better.
