I promise I didn't break Yaourt, 64bit box. ** SOLVED**

[root@rebecca orangeroot1000]# yaourt -S zinc
/usr/lib/yaourt/abs.sh: line 317: /usr/bin/package-query: No such file or directory
zinc package not found, searching for group...
error: 'zinc': not found in sync db
[root@rebecca orangeroot1000]#

Base-Devel is fully installed, this is a fresh install, based off of 2008.02 dvd iso. Clyde works fine, and I even tried to reinstall yaourt with it but still the same error. Package-query is installed.

Get the package-query PKGBUILD from AUR, build package (makepkg) and install (pacman -U package-query-bla-bla.tar.gz)

EDIT:

First of all you must install yajl - it's a package-query dependency.

Well, if you didn't break it, someone else must have.

maybe you shouldn't run yaourt as root too, downloading package and building them is wrong!

How did you update yaourt?  It should have pulled in package-query as a dependency.

I think this is solved now with the PKGBUILD for package-query. I pulled yaourt in with pacman after adding the archlinux.fr repos. Nothing out of the ordinary for good measure though I reinstalled the yajl package.

LOL.. Jelly.. ya I know I'm bad on that but I'm so used to running root on installing/building packages. I figure if Arch is gonna screw me over it's gonna happen anyway, and the same thing about SourceForge. I take them as trusted repos with proper md5 keys and such. Maybe that is niave and bad practice for the newbies. If a package is built its still going to have whatever mischevious "code" is in it during the install which uses root. If I was running 911 or a brain surgery unit maybe I'd be a little more concerned. If it breaks then to me thats the whole fun of it all I get to learn how to fix it. Alert someone of a serious issue so others don't have to go through it.

That's strange, the PKGBUILD for yaourt on AUR has package-query as a dependency, I would think the one in the archlinux.fr repo should have as well.
