sound problem

The problem i'm having is that my usb headset is not working. I've taken a look at the usb headset part of the alsa wiki page, and i've tried everything that was suggested there. I've also tested it on another linux distro, and it was working fine. Am i missing some sort of program? If not can anyone help me with this problem?

Edit: Solved the problem, apparently all i had to do was install: asoundconf and set the default sound card to my headset (which it was already set)

Re: sound problem

Post the model of your usb headset. Post detailed list of the configuration you've done. Post the installed alsa related packages on the other distro (optional). This should make it easier for us to help you.

The usb headset i'm using is a gigaware usb headset (it didn't have any real specific name):

So far i've tried the following:

I've installed alsa-utils and alsa-oss.

After that i've tried using asoundconf to try and configure some of the alsa settings on my usb headset.  My default headset is set to the usb headset.

As for the packages on the other linux distro, i don't have access to that right now. I'll get the packages as soon as i can.
