OSS - less volume output

Hi,
I am using OSSv4,It works great the only problem I got is the volume output is sometimes too low to be able to hear anything. like now, I am not able to hear sound from youtube videos playing in chrome:(

I have already have maxed all sound level but still no help.

can anyone help?

I'm no expert but that probably isn't a good sign. Google doesn't come up with much on that error. Does it work sometimes?

run ossxmix, check if everything is set on max.
Try running a youtube video and checking if moving any sliders changes anything.
If you're running a laptop with low quality speakers (like me) there's nothing much you can do, with alsa or windows, I still can't hear anything in noisy environment...

It was OSS's fault. I removed it and installed ALSA. now the Volume output is fine.

But I have issues when multiple applications try to access sound at once. sound just stops. seems there is no escape from this mess of linux audio:(
