Hello!
I have gotten this warning when upgrading today:
warning: directory permissions differ on var/run/gdm/
filesystem: 1775 package: 711
warning: directory permissions differ on var/log/gdm/
filesystem: 1770 package: 755
This means that the permissions on my computer didn't match with the ones from the package being upgraded/installed, right?
Which permissions should I leave for that folder (var/log/gdm/) and why? And why is the warning on there twice with different values? i'm confused

If you or another package had good reason to change it, leave it at its current value. If not, change it to the package value listed above (and see if anything breaks).
You're seeing different permissions for two different folders: read the warnings more closely.

oh hehe yes I am seeing them for two folders! derrrr! ok i'll just test them out and see what happens!
So if nothing breaks then preferably leave it at the package value?

Yes. You can look inside the previous package and see what the permissions were on the relevant folders there. If you identify that it was a packaging change that's responsible for the new permissions, you can ask the maintainers whether that was intended. They might have made a mistake (in either the previous or the current package).
But if you can't track down why the permissions changed, and you don't have good reason to make them different than the packaging makes them, then go with the packaging values.
