[SOLVED]Conky Forecast problems

I upgraded OpenOffice yesterday and for some reason everytime I run Conky, this error message shows up

/usr/bin/conkyForecast: line 3: :/usr/lib/openoffice/basis-link/program/:/usr/lib/guake: No such file or directory

If anyone knows how to solve that problem, any help would be appreciated.

Re: [SOLVED]Conky Forecast problems

I suppose it would be much easier for someone to help if you posted the whole .conkyrc.

Re: [SOLVED]Conky Forecast problems

I think you should install guake: pacman -S guake

Re: [SOLVED]Conky Forecast problems

The openoffice script in /etc/profiles set the $PYTHONPATH variable in a way that it doesn't work with the conkyForecast startup script.
Just edit /usr/bin/conkyForecast:

#! /bin/sh
cd /usr/share/conkyforecast/
$PYTHONPATH /usr/bin/python /usr/share/conkyforecast/conkyForecast.py "$@"
^ - - - - ^
remove this

and it will work.

Re: [SOLVED]Conky Forecast problems

Well I removed the line and the same problem occurs, the weather won't show up but the only difference is that now the error message doesn't show.

This is unrelated and I emailed the author of conkyforecast about the issue.
/usr/bin/conkyforecast
change

$PYTHONPATH /usr/bin/python /usr/share/conkyforecast/conkyForecast.py "$@"

to

/usr/bin/python /usr/share/conkyforecast/conkyForecast.py "$@"

PYTHONPATH is used incorrectly in this case. It is used to reference python modules (which the openoffice pkg is now doing).

Re: [SOLVED]Conky Forecast problems

Shouldn't this rather be reported as an openoffice package bug too?

Re: [SOLVED]Conky Forecast problems

I'll get a fix out for all the source code in bazaar and update the AUR scripts to pull down the newer revisions at some point in the weekend...

But I do think that the python path variable should point to the python path smile

edit: Updated all in my lunch break, albeit a long one smile
