Installation freezing when Adding new aufs branch

Hey,

I have tried all three images of Arch, Core, Net install and Net ISO.  Unfortunately the install just won't work.  For each one it freezes on:

loop: module loaded
::: Adding aufs branch: overlay

Searching around yields hardly any results so I am guessing this is a strange symptom for something else going on.  The hardware isn't that old, about 6 years.

Pentium single core 2.4 Ghz, 1 GB 400 Mhz ram.  If you need more specs I can pull apart the computer to look.

Only things attached are a PS2 keyboard and a monitor.
